Had a 3-4 day history of cough and head congestion. I have a colonoscopy in 1 week so really wanted to avoid having to reschedule as I already had to wait 6 months after scheduling due to Gastros busy schedule. I got the appt scheduled quick, waited a little over 30 min to be roomed and the PA was prompt, thorough, and had a great bedside manner. Thanks so much for seeing me.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

According to the CDC, if you belong to any of the following categories, it is recommended that you get tested for hepatitis: people who have been exposed to blood through needlesticks or other sharp instrument injuries, people who have injected drugs, men who have sex with men, people with HIV, people who have had multiple sexual partners, and people who have traveled to or are from countries with high hepatitis rates.

Importance of getting tested

Hepatitis is a serious disease that can lead to severe liver damage if left untreated. Early detection through testing is crucial for effective treatment and preventing the spread of the disease to others. According to the CDC, many people with hepatitis do not have symptoms and do not know they are infected. Therefore, regular testing is important, especially for those at higher risk.

Hepatitis testing options in Azle, TX:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care centers like CityDoc Urgent Care in Fort Worth and Doctors Urgent Care in Northlake provide hepatitis testing. These centers are convenient options for same-day or next-day appointments, which can be booked through Solvโ€™s website and mobile app.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers are another reliable source for hepatitis testing. They can provide comprehensive care and follow-up after the test results.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers often offer free or low-cost STD testing, including hepatitis. These centers are a valuable resource for those without insurance or those seeking confidential testing.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are also available for those who prefer privacy and convenience. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and sent back to a lab for analysis.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Azle

While specific data for Azle is not readily available, Texas as a state has a significant number of hepatitis cases. According to the CDC, Texas ranks among the top states in the nation for hepatitis cases. It's important to note that the actual number of cases may be higher due to underreporting and people unaware of their infection.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Azle

Risk factors for hepatitis in Azle align with national trends. These include drug use, unprotected sex, multiple sexual partners, and travel to high-risk countries. Additionally, people with other STIs, such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis, are at higher risk.

Other STDs in Azle

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are prevalent in Azle. These diseases often coexist, and people infected with one STD are often at risk for others. Regular testing for all STDs is recommended for those at risk.
