Urgent care
My daughter was not feeling good today and I decided to get her checked. It was my first time at this urgent care and I was so thankful they’re open 24 hours! The wait time to get in was prompt. I loved that we had to scan a QR code to get all the paperwork done. With everything going on lately, I wouldn’t want to keep passing on or receiving whatever everyone that goes in there has! The staff was beyond amazing and friendly! The nurse that checked my daughter was so soft spoken and sweet. Dr Geller was very nice and I loved that he spoke directly to my daughter and explained everything to her the whole time and acknowledged her as the young lady she is! This is a great urgent care and I would recommend them to anyone!

Doctor Abdelbkais was extremely attentive and generous. Front desk was pretty good. The only thing the MA gave false readings on my vitals, the pulse ox never read, but she said she seen numbers. Other than that visit was good.

My first time here as a new patient. The wait was maybe 10 minutes if that. The fact that this Henry Ford facility has access to your My Chart on the Epic system made the transition to a new facility easy. A very nice building and an convenient location. Staff was friendly and professional. The Nurse Practitioner I saw knew exactly what was going on with my condition and friendly. I would definitely recommend Henry Ford Go Health Urgent Care.

Brita and Caroline the PA were amazing! They were very efficient. I love how clean the facility was. I would recommend these two ladies and your urgent care to anyone. I work in the medical field and I was very impressed. The only thing I would recommend would be wheel chair accessible doors. There should be a push button for entrance and exit. Overall I give this place a 10 out of 10

Urgent care in Detroit, MI

Michigan's Medicaid expansion reduced Detroit's uninsured rate to approximately 5.4% — one of the lowest in the Midwest — yet the Motor City's legacy as America's auto manufacturing capital left a working-class population with significant occupational health burdens and persistent neighborhood health disparities. With Henry Ford Hospital averaging over three and a half hours per emergency visit, walk-in urgent care clinics across metro Detroit provide a faster, more affordable path for the roughly 4.4 million residents of the greater Detroit area.

When should Detroit residents go to urgent care instead of the ER?

Urgent care is appropriate for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries: flu and cold symptoms, ear and sinus infections, minor lacerations, sprains, UTIs, rashes, and eye infections. Detroit's emergency departments — anchored by Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Receiving Hospital, and Corewell Health Beaumont — handle true emergencies but average 3 hours and 35 minutes per visit at Henry Ford alone, according to HospitalStats.org.1 The metro-wide spread between fastest and slowest ERs is 37 minutes, meaning most Detroit-area ERs carry significant wait burdens for non-critical patients. Urgent care provides results in a fraction of that time at substantially lower cost — particularly important in a city where Henry Ford Health reports more than $780 million annually in uncompensated care.2 For life-threatening conditions — chest pain, stroke symptoms, difficulty breathing, or severe injuries — go directly to the ER or call 911.

What do Detroit urgent care clinics treat?

Walk-in clinics across metro Detroit treat the full spectrum of common urgent conditions. Most offer on-site X-ray, rapid strep, flu, and COVID-19 testing, with same-day results. Common visits include upper respiratory infections, ear infections, urinary tract infections, minor fractures and sprains, lacerations, skin conditions, and eye infections. Detroit-area urgent care clinics also see significant occupational health volume — workers' compensation cases, pre-employment physicals, drug screening, and injury evaluations — reflecting the region's auto manufacturing, logistics, and construction workforce. For a full list of conditions treated and availability near you, see urgent care in Detroit, MI on Solv.

Which urgent care providers serve metro Detroit?

Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care operates the most extensive network in the metro, with 27 southeast Michigan locations spanning Detroit, Dearborn, Warren, Southfield, and surrounding communities. The Henry Ford-GoHealth partnership combines GoHealth Urgent Care's operational model with Henry Ford Health System's clinical resources and electronic health records integration.3 Corewell Health — formed through the merger of Beaumont Health and Spectrum Health — operates urgent care and emergency services across southeast Michigan, with a strong presence in communities like Royal Oak, Troy, and Grosse Pointe. Detroit Medical Center (DMC) operates MedPost Urgent Care centers in metro Detroit, including freestanding walk-in locations near hospital campuses. All three systems accept Michigan Medicaid and most major insurance plans. For real-time availability, check Detroit urgent care clinics on Solv.

Does Detroit urgent care accept Michigan Medicaid?

Yes, most urgent care clinics in metro Detroit accept Michigan Medicaid, along with major commercial plans including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Priority Health, Meridian Health Plan, and Molina Healthcare. Michigan expanded Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act, and as of May 2025, approximately 2.4 million Michigan residents — roughly 25% of the state's total population — are enrolled, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation.4 Michigan's expanded Medicaid coverage has been a key driver of the state's low uninsured rate. Patients on Medicaid managed care plans should confirm their specific plan is accepted before visiting; most major plan networks include Henry Ford-GoHealth and Corewell sites. For clinics accepting your plan near Detroit, Dearborn, or Warren, check urgent care in Detroit on Solv.

What are Detroit's seasonal and occupational health patterns?

Detroit's climate creates distinct health patterns across the seasons. Winter is the most demanding period, with temperatures regularly dropping below 0°F and persistent snowfall creating high rates of slip-and-fall injuries, frostbite, and cold weather respiratory conditions. Urgent care clinics in Midtown, New Center, and Dearborn typically see volume spikes for cold and flu through February and March. Spring brings flooding along the Detroit River and Rouge River corridors, with mold-related respiratory complaints rising in affected neighborhoods. Summer heat — particularly in neighborhoods with limited green space and aging housing stock — creates heat exhaustion risk, with Detroit's dense urban core among the metro's hottest areas per the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.5 Occupational health is a year-round driver: auto assembly plants, logistics facilities, and construction sites across Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties generate a consistent volume of workplace injury evaluations, physicals, and drug screening at area urgent care clinics. For care across the metro, see urgent care in Detroit, Dearborn, Warren, and Ann Arbor.
