About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

According to the CDC, anyone who has been exposed to the hepatitis virus, either through sexual contact, sharing needles, or from mother to child during childbirth, should get tested. Additionally, individuals who have traveled to countries with high rates of hepatitis, those with a history of liver disease, and people who have had unprotected sex with multiple partners should also consider getting tested.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial because it allows for early detection and treatment, reducing the risk of severe liver damage and other complications. According to the CDC, many people with hepatitis do not show symptoms until the disease has progressed, making regular testing vital for those at risk. Moreover, knowing your hepatitis status can help prevent the spread of the disease to others.
