Normally we donโ€™t wait too long here but we have been here for two hours now and that was with a scheduled appointment! We were here for about an hour before even getting called back. Another hour now and we got asked to do a review and we havenโ€™t even finished our appointment. Time to find a new urgent care.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

According to the CDC, anyone who has been exposed to the virus, has been in close contact with someone who has hepatitis, or exhibits symptoms of hepatitis should get tested. This includes individuals who have used shared needles, have had unprotected sex, or have traveled to countries with high rates of hepatitis. Additionally, those with chronic liver disease or HIV should also get tested, as they are at higher risk for hepatitis.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial for early detection and treatment. Hepatitis can lead to severe liver damage if left untreated, including cirrhosis and liver cancer. Early detection allows for immediate treatment, which can slow disease progression and prevent further liver damage. According to the CDC, testing also helps prevent the spread of the virus to others.
