The staff and provider who tested my daughter were excellent. They used gloves, masks and all safety equipment necessary to protect patients. Were kind, caring and thoughtful while providing test. Added a second screening since we received a negative, called us at home to give daughter instructions on how to feel better until PCR results come back. This is my 4th time visiting and I'll be back when we need testing in the future.

The doc wrote a scrip, sent it to pharmacy... they didn't have it so it was a runaround getting it. The place that had it was not covered by my insurance so I had to pay cash. It would have been much better if the doc checked to see if they had it... and or accepted my insurance. As it was, it was a big hassle and expensive to get meds.

I've had a head cold for 3 weeks without relief. I had done an e-visit and a virtual through my primary office. I will say my virtual visit suggested I get my ears checked. Thank goodness she did. I had inflammation and fluid in both ears! I hadn't been able to hear for over a week. Thanks to Urgent Care I finally got the medication needed for my body to heal. I had a great visit. The staff there was so helpful and professional. The scheduling was a breeze. I didn't have to wait long before seen. I would recommend going here.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Anyone who believes they may have been exposed to hepatitis should get tested. This includes those who have shared needles or other drug paraphernalia, have had unprotected sex, have traveled to countries with high rates of hepatitis, or have been in close contact with a person known to have hepatitis. Individuals with certain medical conditions, such as liver disease or HIV, should also consider testing, as they may be at higher risk.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial because it is often asymptomatic in its early stages, meaning people can have the virus and spread it to others without knowing. According to the CDC, early detection can help prevent the spread of the virus and allow for early treatment, reducing the risk of severe liver damage and other complications.

Hepatitis testing options in New Baltimore, MI:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care centers, like Springfield Urgent Care in Clinton Township and ProMed Urgent Care in Roseville, offer hepatitis testing. These facilities often have short wait times and friendly staff. You can book same-day and next-day testing appointments at these locations through Solv’s website and mobile app.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers can also conduct hepatitis tests. If you have a primary care provider in New Baltimore, consider reaching out to them for testing.

Free STD testing and community health centers

There are also community health centers and clinics in and around New Baltimore that offer free or low-cost STD testing, including hepatitis.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are another option. These can be ordered online and used in the privacy of your own home. The samples are then sent to a lab for analysis and results are typically available within a few days.

Prevalence of hepatitis in New Baltimore

While specific data for New Baltimore is not readily available, St. Clair County, where New Baltimore is located, has seen a steady number of hepatitis cases over the years. This is in line with national trends, according to the CDC.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in New Baltimore

Risk factors for hepatitis in New Baltimore are similar to those in other parts of the country. These include unprotected sex, sharing needles, and close contact with a person who has hepatitis. Other factors, such as socioeconomic status and access to healthcare, may also play a role.

Other STDs in New Baltimore

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are also present in New Baltimore. As with hepatitis, testing for these STDs is available at local urgent care centers, primary care providers, community health centers, and through at-home testing kits.
