Pulled a muscle in my leg and got a appointment same day. Wait time was a bit long but I didn’t mind. Nurse who took my vitals very pleasant. Doctor very pleasant as well. Both made me feel that they were genuinely concerned with my health. Offices very clean . Office staff at front desk very pleasant as well.  This was my first time here. Would recommend.

The receptionist and PA that was there today (2/20/2019)were great and amazing! My only complaint was that the nurse on staff today was not so warm and welcoming let alone have 1 smile on her face . Other than her I was very happy with our visit today .

The front staff and medical assistant were very nice. They always have a short wait time which is a plus. However the physician I had was clearly in a rush and not really interested in listening to me concerns. She also called in my prescription under the wrong name and it took over an hour to sort it out at the pharmacy.

Have been dealing with issues regarding an infected navel piercing and pushing back a doctors visit because I am always afraid of needing to go. Immediately greeted by such friendly and caring check-in staff. I have no insurance so they were able to help negotiate a price that worked for me. The nurse and doctor who saw me were so friendly and understanding of my fears and situation. They listened to everything I told them and offered me many solutions to my problems, even still understanding my lack of insurance and showing me where to find the cheapest options for prescriptions. All the staff made me feel cared for, as if they were friends of mine I’ve known for a long time. I was in and out in about an hour and am looking forward to my second visit. I would recommend this provider to everyone I know, especially anyone who is normally afraid of being in hospital settings or doctors.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Anyone who has been exposed to the virus, particularly those who have engaged in risky behaviors such as sharing needles or having unprotected sex, should get tested for hepatitis. It's also recommended for individuals who have traveled to areas with high rates of hepatitis, or those who live with someone who has the disease. According to the CDC, people born between 1945 and 1965, often referred to as baby boomers, should also be tested as they are five times more likely to have hepatitis C.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial as it can lead to serious health problems if left untreated, including liver damage, liver cancer, and even death. Early detection can help prevent these complications and lead to effective management of the disease. According to the CDC, many people with hepatitis do not know they have it until they start experiencing symptoms, which can take decades to appear.

Hepatitis testing options in Elmwood Park, IL:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics offer convenient, same-day testing for hepatitis. Midwest Express Clinic in nearby Melrose Park is one such location where you can book a same-day or next-day appointment through Solv.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers can also provide hepatitis testing. Regular check-ups with your primary care provider can help detect the disease early, making treatment more effective.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers and free STD testing clinics provide another option for hepatitis testing. These centers often provide testing at a lower cost or even free of charge, making healthcare more accessible.

At-home testing

At-home hepatitis testing kits are available for those who prefer to test in the privacy of their own homes. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and then sent back to a lab for analysis.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Elmwood Park

While the exact prevalence of hepatitis in Elmwood Park is not readily available, Cook County, where Elmwood Park is located, has seen a rise in hepatitis cases over the years. This trend mirrors the national trend, where according to the CDC, cases of hepatitis C have tripled over the last decade.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Elmwood Park

Risk factors for hepatitis in Elmwood Park are similar to those in other parts of the country. These include engaging in unprotected sex, sharing needles, and having a tattoo or piercing done with unsterilized equipment. Additionally, baby boomers are at a higher risk and should be tested.

Other STDs in Elmwood Park

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are also present in Elmwood Park. Just like with hepatitis, early detection through regular testing is key to effective treatment and management of these diseases.
