Scheduling was great. The PA I saw is amazing she is always so helpful. The wait time was ridiculous tho. Waited over an hour for my appointment and to be seen. But after that was given time with the staff.

Allergy season had been wreaking havoc on my system for over a week and I couldn't take anymore when my chest began rattling from all the wheezing. The wait time was under 15 min. Bradley was so patient and attentive. I had a breathing treatment in the office and meds were called in immediately. Would definitely recommend.

The staff was just wonderful And it was even a holiday And everybody was in great spirits and the doctor was lovely And knowledgeable It was quite a positive experience I appreciate the office checking in to see how things are going and I have made several calls to have a refill on a prescription that was missed in the initial visit and it's been a little challenging getting an answer but I'm sure it'll be fine eventually the dosage was quite clear when verbally discussed with the doctor

Recent COVID-19 Testing Reviews (20)

We did the covid rapid test and Stacy was wonderful! Very friendly, explained fully how the test was going to feel and what was going to take place. She was patient with my kids. Made the covid testing process less scary for them. Definitely recommend from our experience with Stacy!

- Verified patient on 12/16

I stopped by to get a Rapid COVID test. After registration, I was seen quickly by a staff member, the test was administered and results (negative) came through quickly. As a follow-up, was seen by the doctor on call. We agreed on doing the longer COVID test as I had symptoms for only around 3 days and therefore the Rapid Test may not be totally accurate. Got results on 2nd test today (negative). Was pleased with service and attention. Would recommend.

- Verified patient on 2/22

Staff was great. They were very busy and the sign in situation could have been more clear. The wait was outrageous, 3 hours for a Rapid Covid test. Not sure why it took that long to get thru 18 patients. I would recommend it because the staff was friendly despite being very busy and being possibly exposed to people who test positive for the virus. I recommend it because itโ€™s one of the few places accepting walk ins. But the wait time needs to be improved.

- Verified patient on 12/22

I was required to get a COVID test due to the virus being found at my job. I checked on the internet for a location near me that could take walk-in patients without appointments and found you. Everything was handled quickly and professionally.

- Verified patient on 8/26

Went in for Rapid Covid test. Overall decent experience except for the wait time. My appointment was at 9:15 - I arrived early and on time. Wasn't seen by nurse until just past 9:45 - otherwise I would recommend. Testing done smoothly, waited about 15 minutes + and received a negative result. Doctor seemed nice.

- Verified patient on 4/2

The entire staff was very nice, as was the doctor. I was just there for a COVID test so there was nothing too complicated.

- Verified patient on 9/3

The nurse who completed my daughter's Covid test was WONDERFUL. It's not easy to work with a toddler, let alone trying to stick something up their nose. The nurse made jokes and let her get comfortable first. She went above and beyond and honestly was more welcoming than any pediatric nurse I've ever encountered.

- Verified patient on 1/26

I arrived as a walk-in on Sunday morning for a Covid test. I was immediately booked in and seen within a half hour. Everybody was friendly and helpful, and the place is open and clean feeling. Couldnโ€™t ask for more.

- Verified patient on 1/4

Needed a covid test after returning from another state. Staff was great, appointment was fast, will return should I need them again!

- Verified patient on 10/16

I have to be covid tested each week i am a nurse in the nursing home the staff are so kind and polite

- Verified patient on 12/20

Everyone was great. I got both a quick Covid test and the longer term one and I havenโ€™t gotten the longer term results yet, so I wish you waited until after that to ask for my rating. The only thing I wish were better was that they had explained how I would hear my results. Email? Text? I have to call?

- Verified patient on 9/6

This was the first time I had a COVID test so I didnโ€™t know what to expect. The staff was informative and friendly...efficient and knowledgeable. I would recommend Solvhealth to friends and family. Great experience!

- Verified patient on 9/22

The appointment for Covid test was slow, however when the airline didnโ€™t accept out test results on paper, we called to get a digital copy since we couldnโ€™t use the โ€œMyChartโ€ app and Donna at the Mt. Ephraim location CAME TO THE RESCUE and sent our results again !! We made our flight in the nick of time and have extreme gratitude for her help!!!! Thank You!

I only had a Covid test. So not a real visit with the dr but folks were nice and I was able to go home and wait.

- Verified patient on 10/25

The reception staff were friendly and welcoming especially since most of the patients were there for Covid testing. The Covid technician explained everything and also was comforting as well as the provider who tended to you once your results were in. Put you at ease and understood your anxiety at the time. Thank you Riverside Urgent Care

- Verified patient on 10/24

Unnecessary office visit for covid test. Vital signs taken unnecessarily. Saw doctor unnecessarily. Had to go inside center and into an examination room which increased my exposure.

- Verified patient on 11/10

Wonderful experience. Staff was so kind and friendly. We all had to get Covid tests and they werenโ€™t uncomfortable at all, even for my kids. The staff was so nice and put everyone at ease. Thank you!

- Verified patient on 12/25

The staff was very friendly and the person giving the rapid covid test that my husband and I needed for travel was so exceptional and helped my anxiety over getting this done. The atmosphere in the waiting room was so inviting. I loved how it was decorated for Halloween and I especially like the lights on the palm tree. Very warm looking. Thank you!

- Verified patient on 9/18

It was a okay experience. I went in for chest congestion and coughing. They gave me a COVID test and came back and said it was negative. Mind you I knew I didnโ€™t have COVID I had already had it recently. They were just going to send me home with my negative results and no other explanation. I could possibly have bronchitis and nothing was checked. He did a quick lung check over my hoodie on my back and said it was clear. Yet Iโ€™m coughing up mucus. It just seemed like they wanted me in and out. I wanted a hour just to be given cough medicine and an inhaler abs no other details. It seems like itโ€™s either you have COVID or you donโ€™t and thatโ€™s it. I think the bed side manner as disappeared. Oh and Iโ€™m still sick going on 2 weeks now.

- Verified patient on 3/25

I know you guys were busy but I made a 330 appointment it was not seen until 510 and it was just to get a Covid test

Cherry Hill COVID Testing & Rapid Testing

Types of COVID Tests

There are two types of coronavirus tests (COVID-19 tests) available, those that can test for a current infection (viral test) and those that can test for a past infection (antibody test).

Viral COVID testing can be done in a few different ways, the most common being nose swabs, but saliva tests are becoming more popular. Some tests are processed out on-site and can provide results in as little as 30 minutes. These are called rapid COVID tests. The majority of tests, on the other hand, are collected at the clinic on-site and then submitted to off-site labs for processing. Results can take up to 2-3 days to arrive.

Antibody testing looks for a past infection and may not reveal if you have an active COVID-19 infection because antibodies can take up to three weeks to form in your body. The presence of COVID antibodies may help to prevent you from becoming infected with the same virus again; but, because the clinical understanding of COVID-19 is still developing, it's unclear how long that protection will continue.

Who should get tested for current infection

The CDC currently defines four instances where COVID testing is recommended:

  1. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 including fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.
  2. If you have been in close contact with someone with confirmed COVID-19. Close contact is defined as within 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period. If you have been vaccinated, or tested positive in the past 3 months and not experiencing symptoms, you do not need to be tested.
  3. If you are unvaccinated and participated in high-risk activities where distancing is not an option. This could include travel, large social or mass gatherings, crowded indoor settings, etc.
  4. If you have been referred to get a COVID test by your healthcare provider or local health department.

How is testing done for COVID-19?

Most COVID tests are collected by a nasal swab. A member of the medical team puts a swab inside your nose for a few seconds on each side to collect the sample. After that, the samples are packaged according to CDC guidelines and tested on-site or transported to a facility for testing. The lab will test samples for the presence of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), which causes COVID infection and either your care provider or the lab will notify you with the results as soon as they are available.

PCR vs Antigen Testing

Viral COVID tests are available as molecular and antigen tests. The molecular test, also known as a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, usually delivers results within a few days since most of these tests are sent to offsite labs for analysis. The average turnaround time for PCR test results is 48 hours, but in some instances may be significantly longer due to backlogs related to insufficient lab volume and capacity. Antigen tests are also known as rapid tests and have an average turnaround time of between 15 to 30 minutes.

Both PCR and rapid COVID tests can be used to test people exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, those who were close contacts to COVID-19, and those without COVID-19 symptoms who live or work in a high-risk setting (such as a nursing facility); or those individuals who are identified as part of outbreak detection and response. The rapid COVID test is also recommended for the screening of residents or healthcare workers at skilled nursing facilities along with a PCR confirmation, and for repeat screening for the early detection and prevention of outbreaks in congregate settings (such as schools, workplaces, and prisons).

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. To reduce the risk of facing extra costs related to COVID testing, ask your primary care doctor to recommend a free COVID test site, and confirm there are no charges or fees for the test that are not covered by your insurance plan. Additionally, avoid getting a COVID test at a hospital or free-standing emergency room, as these facilities may charge fees for COVID testing and related services.

COVID-19 Testing FAQs

  • How much does COVID testing cost in Cherry Hill?

In many cases, COVID testing can be free. Many state and local health departments continue to offer free testing to community residents as part of their response to the pandemic. In other cases, commercially insured patients, or those on Medicare or Medicaid, may receive testing at no out of pocket cost, or with a nominal office visit copay. For cash paying patients, or those that need rapid COVID testing which will deliver results in under an hour, COVID tests can range from $50 to $150 each. It is best to call your healthcare provider prior to getting tested to better understand the cost of the specific test you require.

  • Where can I get free COVID testing in Cherry Hill?

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. Check with your Cherry Hill-area health department as they are generally a good source for free COVID tests, or can at least point you in the right direction. Additionally, you can ask your primary care provider to recommend a free COVID test site.

  • Where can I get COVID testing in Cherry Hill?

COVID testing is available at many outlets near Cherry Hill including urgent care centers, retail clinics, primary care offices, health departments, and more. Different venues will have different types of tests available, many at different price points. Some testing sites are allowing walk-in patients, however, many are still requiring some degree of advance booking to control patient volume.

  • Where can I get a rapid COVID test in Cherry Hill?

Rapid testingโ€”both PCR (molecular) and antigen testsโ€”is offered through many Cherry Hill-area urgent care centers and physician offices, usually at an additional cost ranging from $50 up to $150 per test. Usually this will allow you to get results back in under an hour, and require advanced booking through the provider. However, if you can wait 24 hours for your results, many labs are turning around send-out lab tests in that time frame, which could save you some money.

  • How to make an appointment for COVID testing in Cherry Hill?

Same-day and next day appointments for COVID testing in Cherry Hill are bookable directly through Solv. Simply browse the list of healthcare providers conducting COVID tests above, find one with a โ€œBook Onlineโ€ button, and book a time that aligns with your schedule stating โ€œCOVID-19 Testโ€ as your reason for visit.

  • Can I get tested for antibodies if I am sick with COVID-19 Cherry Hill?

An antibody test for COVID-19 might inform you if you previously had a coronavirus infection. Because it can take between 1โ€“3 weeks after an infection for your body to develop these antibodies, an antibody test during an active infection would not be successful. To see if you are currently infected, you need a viral test.

  • Do I need a COVID test if I have been vaccinated?

Even if you have been fully vaccinated, if you have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19, experts believe that you should be tested yourself, particularly if you are experiencing cold and flu symptoms commonly aligned with the coronavirus.

  • How long does COVID testing take?

Getting a COVID test is quick. Most tests are done with a nasal swab, which takes less than a minute to swab both nostrils. Depending on where you get your COVID test, this means you could be in and out of the testing site in as little as 10-15 minutes. During busy timesโ€”particularly around holidaysโ€”testing sites may be busier than usual and wait times may be longer.

  • How long does it take to get COVID test results in Cherry Hill?

Most labs are returning send-out molecular (PCR) COVID test results within 24-48 hours of the test. Some sites take longer, so call and ask if the reason for the test is proof for travel. Rapid COVID tests are processed on-site and are able to deliver results in under an hour, sometimes in as little as 15 min.

  • Do COVID tests detect the Delta variant and Omicron variant?

Regular COVID tests are able to detect both the Delta variant and Omicron variant in that they can determine whether or not you have the coronavirus. However, they can't tell which variation is involved. That would necessitate genomic sequencing, which is a different process from regular virus testing that not all labs can undertake. Sequencing is uncommon and can cost up to $100 per test. Since the treatment is the same for any variant, it is not clinically useful to an individual patient to know whether the infection was caused by a variant or not.
