Had a 3-4 day history of cough and head congestion. I have a colonoscopy in 1 week so really wanted to avoid having to reschedule as I already had to wait 6 months after scheduling due to Gastros busy schedule. I got the appt scheduled quick, waited a little over 30 min to be roomed and the PA was prompt, thorough, and had a great bedside manner. Thanks so much for seeing me.

Excellent and comprehensive care station g with the first Zoom interview.  We agreed to start with the basics and I said I would run out and get a thermometer, haha.  I then mentioned chest pain that I was taking aleve for.  She said that was a concern for pneumonia.  I tested negative all all the other fronts, RSV, Flu, no fever, etc, but was extremely tired all week.

I usually have a real positive experience at your facility. But this time it was not as much so. I still left with pain and nothing really to help. The only positive thing was he told me what the problem was. I do have an appointment with my orthopedic doctor tomorrow. I do appreciate having the insight as to what the problem was.

Overview of STD Testing in Grapevine

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for STDs, especially if they have multiple partners or don't consistently use protection. This includes both men and women, as well as individuals of all ages. Even if you don't have symptoms, it's possible to have an STD and pass it to others. Regular testing is a key part of maintaining your sexual health and preventing the spread of these diseases.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for several reasons. First, many STDs don't show symptoms right away, or at all, so the only way to know for sure if you have one is to get tested. Second, untreated STDs can lead to serious health complications, including infertility, cancer, and increased risk of HIV. Finally, knowing your status can help protect your partners from getting infected.

Prevalence of STDs in Grapevine

While specific data for Grapevine, TX is not readily available, Dallas County, where Grapevine is located, has seen a steady increase in STD cases over the past few years, according to the CDC. This trend mirrors the national increase in STD rates. It's important to note that these figures may be underreported, as many people with STDs do not show symptoms and therefore do not seek testing or treatment.

Risk factors related to STDs in Grapevine

Risk factors for STDs in Grapevine are similar to those in other parts of the country. These include having multiple sexual partners, not using condoms consistently, and having a history of STDs. Additionally, certain demographic groups, such as young adults and men who have sex with men, are at higher risk. It's important to understand these risk factors and take steps to protect yourself, such as getting tested regularly and using protection.
