About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

According to the CDC, anyone who has been exposed to blood or body fluids of an infected individual, has had unprotected sex, has shared needles, or has traveled to countries with high rates of hepatitis should consider getting tested. Additionally, individuals born between 1945 and 1965, commonly known as baby boomers, should also get tested as they are five times more likely to have hepatitis C.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial in preventing its spread and managing its impact. Early detection can lead to effective treatment, reducing the risk of liver damage and other complications. According to the CDC, many people with hepatitis are unaware they have it, which underscores the importance of regular testing, especially for those at higher risk.
