The staff and provider who tested my daughter were excellent. They used gloves, masks and all safety equipment necessary to protect patients. Were kind, caring and thoughtful while providing test. Added a second screening since we received a negative, called us at home to give daughter instructions on how to feel better until PCR results come back. This is my 4th time visiting and I'll be back when we need testing in the future.

Doctor Abdelbkais was extremely attentive and generous. Front desk was pretty good. The only thing the MA gave false readings on my vitals, the pulse ox never read, but she said she seen numbers. Other than that visit was good.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

According to the CDC, those who should consider getting tested for hepatitis include individuals who have been exposed to the virus, have engaged in high-risk behaviors such as sharing needles or having unprotected sex, have a chronic liver disease, or are pregnant. It's also recommended for anyone born between 1945 and 1965, as this age group has a higher rate of hepatitis C infection.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial as it helps in early detection, enabling immediate treatment and preventing the spread of the disease. Untreated hepatitis can lead to severe liver damage, including cirrhosis and liver cancer. It's also important to note that many people with hepatitis do not experience symptoms until liver damage has occurred, making regular testing vital for those at risk.

Hepatitis testing options in Rochester Hills, MI:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics offer a convenient option for hepatitis testing. These facilities often offer same-day appointments, reducing the waiting time for those in need of immediate testing. In Rochester Hills, you can book an appointment at 1st Choice Urgent Care in nearby Bloomfield Township through Solv's website or mobile app.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers are another option for hepatitis testing. They can provide comprehensive care, including testing, treatment, and follow-up. If you have a primary care provider in Rochester Hills, consider discussing your concerns and testing options with them.

Free STD testing and community health centers

For those with limited resources, free STD testing and community health centers provide an accessible option for hepatitis testing. However, availability of these services can vary, so it's essential to research local resources in Rochester Hills and surrounding areas.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits offer another convenient option for hepatitis testing. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and sent back to a lab for analysis. Results are typically available within a few days.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Rochester Hills

While specific data on the prevalence of hepatitis in Rochester Hills is not readily available, the CDC reports that hepatitis C, in particular, is a significant health concern in Michigan. Comparatively, nearby counties such as Chautauqua County and Beaver County have also reported a high incidence of hepatitis.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Rochester Hills

Risk factors for hepatitis in Rochester Hills are likely similar to those in other parts of the country. These include engaging in unprotected sex, sharing needles, having a tattoo or piercing done with unsterilized equipment, and having a blood transfusion or organ transplant before 1992.

Other STDs in Rochester Hills

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are also prevalent in Rochester Hills. Regular testing for these STDs is recommended for those at risk. Testing locations such as Medpro Urgent Care in Madison Heights and ProMed Urgent Care in Roseville offer comprehensive STD testing services.
