About

About CareFirst Urgent Care

CareFirst Urgent Care was founded in 2011 in Cincinnati, Ohio, with a stated mission to deliver accessible, affordable, and patient-centered healthcare. Beginning as a single walk-in clinic, the organization grew into the largest independent urgent care provider in the Cincinnati metropolitan area. In 2021, CareFirst acquired Doctors Urgent Care Offices, a separate organization that had operated in the Cincinnati-Dayton corridor since 1982, adding 10 clinics spanning from Dayton, Ohio, to Erlanger, Kentucky. That transaction expanded CareFirst network to cover both sides of the Ohio-Kentucky border. The organization has since extended its footprint into Nevada. CareFirst Urgent Care is unaffiliated with CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, the Maryland-based health insurer that shares a similar name.
