Pediatric urgent care
Overall, we received great care and the staff was friendly. We had a scheduled appointment. We arrived 15 minutes before the appointment. We waited for 50 minutes in the waiting area. Then an additional 45-50 minutes before we saw a provider with no updates of when we’d be seen. Otherwise, we would give a 5 star review.  We’ve visited this location before and had different experiences …. Maybe this is a one off situation but please work on your scheduling

Urgent care
I cut myself with the knife as I was cutting into a spaghetti squash and quickly called someone to take me over to the urgent care. I’m a veteran and the main hospital is far, and that’s the clinic they have that I should go to, so I come here whenever I have something urgent. My wait was only the call she did to verify and that’s it, I was in there and they tended to me, got me blankets because I was so cold and got me stitched up. Great bedside manner and very attentive. Even with the other patients, they made sure they were attentive to them even while being busy.

Urgent care in Simonton, TX

Simonton is a small Fort Bend County city along the Brazos River about 35 miles west of downtown Houston, with urgent care needs served by clinics in nearby Fulshear, Katy, and Richmond. Book a same-day visit nearby or in urgent care in Houston in under a minute.

What services do urgent care clinics in Simonton offer?

Urgent care for Simonton residents typically comes from clinics in Fulshear, Katy, and Richmond — handling flu, strep, UTIs, sprains, lacerations, ear infections, sports physicals, and on-site labs and X-ray. Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital and OakBend Medical Center anchor the local hospital options, with Houston Methodist West and affiliated walk-in clinics nearby.2

Does urgent care in Simonton accept STAR (Texas Medicaid)?

Most urgent care clinics serving the Simonton area accept STAR, the Texas Medicaid managed care program administered by Texas Health and Human Services.1 Because Texas hasn't expanded Medicaid, eligibility is largely limited to children, pregnant women, and very low-income families — KFF tracks Texas as the state with the highest uninsured rate in the U.S.3 Confirm STAR MCO acceptance with the specific clinic before booking.

How does Simonton urgent care relate to Houston?

Simonton has roughly 800 residents and sits in rural west Fort Bend County along the Brazos River.4 For meaningful urgent care, residents typically drive east into Fulshear or Katy, and route into urgent care in Houston for higher-acuity care along the Texas Medical Center network.

Urgent Care Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are there urgent care clinics in Simonton?

Yes. Simonton, TX has walk-in urgent care available either directly in town or within a short drive in adjacent communities. Most clinics offer same-day visits for common illnesses and minor injuries, with on-site labs and X-ray where needed. Use Solv to see real-time availability and book a slot before you walk in.
  • Does urgent care in Simonton accept STAR (Texas Medicaid)?

Most urgent care clinics serving the Simonton area accept STAR, the Texas Medicaid managed care program administered by Texas Health and Human Services. STAR is delivered through several managed care organizations (Amerigroup, Molina, Superior, United, etc.), so confirm with the specific clinic which MCOs they contract with before booking. Texas has not expanded Medicaid under the ACA, so working-age adults outside the standard STAR eligibility criteria typically do not qualify.
  • What insurance do urgent care centers in Simonton accept?

Most Simonton-area urgent care clinics accept commercial insurance plans (Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Humana), Medicare, and TRICARE for active-duty military and veterans. Many also accept STAR (Texas Medicaid). Cash-pay and self-pay options are widely available — average urgent care visit costs run $100-$250 depending on services. Confirm your specific plan and copay with the clinic before booking.
  • Should I go to urgent care or the ER in Simonton?

Urgent care handles non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries — flu, strep, UTIs, sprains, lacerations needing stitches, minor burns, ear infections, mild asthma flares — usually for a fraction of an ER bill and with shorter waits. Go to the ER (or call 911) for chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe trauma, difficulty breathing, severe abdominal pain, head injury with confusion, or any condition that feels life-threatening. The nearest hospital ER for Simonton residents is Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital.
  • How far is the nearest hospital from Simonton?

The nearest full-service hospital ERs to Simonton are Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital (about 15 miles north) and OakBend Medical Center in Richmond (about 15 miles southeast). For non-life-threatening conditions, urgent care clinics in Fulshear and Katy are typically faster and significantly cheaper than the ER.
