Went to ER scheduled ER follow up that day was a heavy storm called to verify and even though I got the text message for the next day, they did not see me on the schedule and made me wait till the next available in an agonizing pain left several voicemails. You never got a callback from management as requested.

Urgent care
Scheduling was easy, I did it the night before. When I arrived, I was 2nd in line according to their link, and there didn’t seem to be many people there. Still, it took over an hour to be taken back and nearly 2 hours when all was said and done. This is my Urgent Care clinic of choice, but I’ve never seen this doctor before and it’s never taken this long in the past. Still, I would continue to use this clinic. Staff were friendly and my prescription was sent to my pharmacy promptly.

I can't thank them enough for always checking out my son in a timely manner and with such care and compassion. Thank you.

Urgent care in Seguin, TX

Seguin is the Guadalupe County seat along I-10 east of San Antonio, with urgent care anchored by Guadalupe Regional Medical Center and a small set of independent walk-in clinics. Book a same-day visit locally or escalate into urgent care in San Antonio in under a minute.

What services do urgent care clinics in Seguin offer?

Seguin urgent care clinics and the hospital-affiliated walk-in at Guadalupe Regional handle the standard load — flu, strep, UTIs, sprains, lacerations, minor burns, ear infections — plus DOT physicals, sports physicals for Seguin ISD athletics, occupational health for the regional manufacturing and ranching workforce, and on-site labs and X-ray.2 Higher-acuity care typically routes west into Methodist Healthcare, Baptist Health System, and University Health in San Antonio.

Does urgent care in Seguin accept STAR (Texas Medicaid)?

Most Seguin urgent care clinics accept STAR, the Texas Medicaid managed care program administered by Texas Health and Human Services.1 Texas has not expanded Medicaid under the ACA, so eligibility is largely limited to children, pregnant women, and very low-income families — KFF tracks Texas as the state with the highest uninsured rate in the country.3 In a smaller market like Seguin, STAR managed care plan options can be more limited, so confirm acceptance with the specific clinic before booking.

How does Seguin urgent care relate to San Antonio?

Seguin has roughly 30,000 residents and serves as the Guadalupe County seat, with an economy tied to manufacturing (Caterpillar, Tyson Foods, Continental Automotive), agribusiness, and Texas Lutheran University.4 The city sits about 35 miles east of downtown San Antonio along I-10, with patients escalating west into urgent care in San Antonio for specialty care.

Urgent Care Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are there urgent care clinics in Seguin?

Yes. Seguin, TX has walk-in urgent care available either directly in town or within a short drive in adjacent communities. Most clinics offer same-day visits for common illnesses and minor injuries, with on-site labs and X-ray where needed. Use Solv to see real-time availability and book a slot before you walk in.
  • Does urgent care in Seguin accept STAR (Texas Medicaid)?

Most urgent care clinics serving the Seguin area accept STAR, the Texas Medicaid managed care program administered by Texas Health and Human Services. STAR is delivered through several managed care organizations (Amerigroup, Molina, Superior, United, etc.), so confirm with the specific clinic which MCOs they contract with before booking. Texas has not expanded Medicaid under the ACA, so working-age adults outside the standard STAR eligibility criteria typically do not qualify.
  • What insurance do urgent care centers in Seguin accept?

Most Seguin-area urgent care clinics accept commercial insurance plans (Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Humana), Medicare, and TRICARE for active-duty military and veterans. Many also accept STAR (Texas Medicaid). Cash-pay and self-pay options are widely available — average urgent care visit costs run $100-$250 depending on services. Confirm your specific plan and copay with the clinic before booking.
  • Should I go to urgent care or the ER in Seguin?

Urgent care handles non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries — flu, strep, UTIs, sprains, lacerations needing stitches, minor burns, ear infections, mild asthma flares — usually for a fraction of an ER bill and with shorter waits. Go to the ER (or call 911) for chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe trauma, difficulty breathing, severe abdominal pain, head injury with confusion, or any condition that feels life-threatening. The nearest hospital ER for Seguin residents is Guadalupe Regional Medical Center.
  • Can Seguin urgent care handle manufacturing occupational health?

Yes. Seguin is home to major manufacturing employers including Caterpillar, Tyson Foods, and Continental Automotive — and local urgent care clinics regularly handle DOT physicals, pre-employment and post-incident drug screens, audiograms, and workers' comp injury evaluations for that workforce. Call ahead to confirm your employer's preferred network.
