Although there were a lot of people waiting, we were in and out fairly quickly. The doctor/PA was super kid-friendly. The bathroom was not very clean but it was the end of day so I didn't complain

Urgent care
Tamara at Little Spurs Pediatric Urgent Care was phenomenal. She demonstrated an extraordinary ability to balance care, efficiency, and effectiveness while helping this grandmother navigate concerns involving potential cost, technology, and the delicate responsibility of communicating with my grandson’s parents. I had come from an ophthalmology appointment earlier that day where my eyes had been dilated, leaving me unable to read the small print on my screen. Tamara immediately adapted. She helped me navigate the technology and get screenshots transferred into the system so the information could get where it needed to go. But Tamara didn’t simply answer questions or provide technical assistance. She listened, problem-solved, and even negotiated to help find a workable solution. She understood that this wasn’t simply about an appointment or a bill. It was about helping a grandmother care for her grandson while respecting his parents, considering the potential cost, and making sure everyone had the information needed to make a good decision. Tamara combined compassion with competence and turned what could have been a frustrating situation into a manageable one. Her ability to provide care with efficiency and effectiveness—while never losing the human element—was exceptional. Little Spurs is very fortunate to have Tamara.

Went to ER scheduled ER follow up that day was a heavy storm called to verify and even though I got the text message for the next day, they did not see me on the schedule and made me wait till the next available in an agonizing pain left several voicemails. You never got a callback from management as requested.

Urgent care
When checking in at the Texas MedClinic waiting time was lengthy, but once we were called to the back. The Medical Assistant was absolutely very Thorough has a excellent personality I would like if Esther skills were passed on to the intire team. The Doctor also was very thorough and explaining over the treatment and follow up. I diffently would recommend this facility. Just make sure and register online before arriving so it can cut down on the waiting time.

Urgent care in Lytle, TX

Lytle sits at the corner of Atascosa, Medina, and Bexar counties along I-35 southwest of San Antonio, with urgent care needs typically routed to nearby Somerset, Devine, and the broader San Antonio metro. Book a walk-in slot near you or in urgent care in San Antonio in under a minute.

What services do urgent care clinics in Lytle offer?

Lytle residents typically use urgent care clinics in Somerset, Devine, or southwest San Antonio for routine acute care — flu, strep, UTIs, sprains, lacerations, minor injuries — and on-site labs and X-ray. South Texas Regional Medical Center in Jourdanton offers nearby hospital care, while broader options exist through Methodist Healthcare, Baptist Health System, and University Health across the San Antonio metro.2

Does urgent care in Lytle accept STAR (Texas Medicaid)?

Most urgent care clinics serving the Lytle area accept STAR, the Texas Medicaid managed care program administered by Texas Health and Human Services.1 Texas has not expanded Medicaid, so eligibility is largely limited to children, pregnant women, and very low-income families — KFF reports Texas has the highest uninsured rate in the U.S.3 Confirm STAR managed care plan acceptance directly with the clinic before booking.

How does Lytle urgent care relate to San Antonio?

Lytle has roughly 2,549 residents and sits about 25 miles southwest of downtown San Antonio along I-35.4 The city straddles three counties and serves as a gateway between metropolitan San Antonio and the smaller agricultural and ranching communities of South Texas. Specialty and higher-acuity healthcare typically routes into urgent care in San Antonio.

Urgent Care Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are there urgent care clinics in Lytle?

Yes. Lytle, TX has walk-in urgent care available either directly in town or within a short drive in adjacent communities. Most clinics offer same-day visits for common illnesses and minor injuries, with on-site labs and X-ray where needed. Use Solv to see real-time availability and book a slot before you walk in.
  • Does urgent care in Lytle accept STAR (Texas Medicaid)?

Most urgent care clinics serving the Lytle area accept STAR, the Texas Medicaid managed care program administered by Texas Health and Human Services. STAR is delivered through several managed care organizations (Amerigroup, Molina, Superior, United, etc.), so confirm with the specific clinic which MCOs they contract with before booking. Texas has not expanded Medicaid under the ACA, so working-age adults outside the standard STAR eligibility criteria typically do not qualify.
  • What insurance do urgent care centers in Lytle accept?

Most Lytle-area urgent care clinics accept commercial insurance plans (Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Humana), Medicare, and TRICARE for active-duty military and veterans. Many also accept STAR (Texas Medicaid). Cash-pay and self-pay options are widely available — average urgent care visit costs run $100-$250 depending on services. Confirm your specific plan and copay with the clinic before booking.
  • Should I go to urgent care or the ER in Lytle?

Urgent care handles non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries — flu, strep, UTIs, sprains, lacerations needing stitches, minor burns, ear infections, mild asthma flares — usually for a fraction of an ER bill and with shorter waits. Go to the ER (or call 911) for chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe trauma, difficulty breathing, severe abdominal pain, head injury with confusion, or any condition that feels life-threatening. The nearest hospital ER for Lytle residents is South Texas Regional Medical Center (Jourdanton).
  • How far is the nearest hospital ER from Lytle for non-walk-in emergencies?

The nearest hospital ER is at South Texas Regional Medical Center in Jourdanton, about 20 minutes south, or the Methodist Healthcare and Baptist Health System facilities in southwest San Antonio about 25-30 minutes away. For chest pain, stroke symptoms, or major trauma, call 911 — paramedics can route to the most appropriate trauma center.
