My first time at Guidewell today made a lasting impression on me. From my phone conversation with receptionist, the ease at scheduling appt, the quick response time for that appt, I was already impressed. Wait time at the office was minimal; Katherine (ARNP) was so caring, gentle and kind. She listened to everything I told her, and made the decision for me to have X-RAYS taken. After having this procedure done, Katherine came back into the room and made some great recommendations for me to follow through with. I only wish I could make Guidewell my Primary Healthcare Provider! Marsha

Been suffering with what appeared to be cold symptoms, but turned into a really bad cough so went to the walk-in clinic. I was able to schedule an appointment online. They took me an immediately. The PA was very thorough, explain things to me very well, ordered medicine for me for the  cough and inflammation and congestion. The young lady at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. The PA was awesome and I would definitely come here again and recommend it to anyone.

I have been to AFC Urgent Care Spring Hill twice with my son, and both experiences have been excellent. I always leave feeling calm and reassured because of the wonderful care, kindness, and attention they give him. From the front desk staff to the nurses and doctors, everyone has been incredibly friendly, professional, and caring. They make us feel welcomed and well taken care of every time. I am truly grateful for the way they treat my son, and I highly recommend this urgent care.

Overview of STD Testing in New Port Richey

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider regular STD testing as part of their health routine. This is especially important for those who have multiple sexual partners, engage in unprotected sex, or use intravenous drugs. It's also crucial for pregnant women to get tested to prevent passing infections to their babies. According to the CDC, specific age groups, such as those between 15 and 24, account for half of the new STD cases, indicating that young adults should be particularly vigilant about testing.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is a critical part of maintaining your health and the health of your partners. Many STDs can be asymptomatic, meaning you could be infected and not know it. Untreated STDs can lead to severe health complications, including infertility, cancer, and increased susceptibility to HIV. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, reducing the risk of these complications.

Primary care providers

Your primary care provider can also conduct STD testing. This may be a comfortable option if you have an established relationship with your provider. However, appointments may not be as readily available as with urgent care centers.
