I had a low grade fever and fatigue over the weekend and walked in on Monday. Waited maybe 5 minutes. Staff was attentive, ran some tests, did a chest x-ray and concluded I had some viral infection. Wrote me an Rx for conjunctivitis, but just told me to rest and drink plenty of fluids, take Ibuprofen every 4 hours, which I have been doing. As of Wednesday morning I still have the chills and fever, so I wish they would have given me a Z pack. I will see how today goes but may need to come back.

I came in with a split in my thumb that has been in a cycle of โ€˜starting to healโ€™ and then splits more and bleeds every couple of days for close to a month. The doctor looked at it for about 5 seconds and immediately put an ointment on it. Then proceeded to say to not put anything on it and โ€œlet it beโ€. I have tried letting it be for about 3 weeks. Thatโ€™s why I came in. Itโ€™s not a dangerous emergency but it is causing me significant pain when I touch it against anything accidentally. A few days later and itโ€™s bleeding more often than it was before. I guess I will just let it be until it turns into an infection.

Everyone was wonderful on my visit. ย The only negative thing I would say was the check in process. ย You enter your information on an iPad then a paper form then you get a text message to enter the same information. ย And I was a repeat customer.

About Pregnancy Tests

A pregnancy test helps you confirm whether youโ€™re pregnant. Many signs and symptoms of pregnancy overlap with other health and medical conditions, but getting a pregnancy test can reveal whether conception is the reason for your symptoms. A missed menstrual period is usually the primary sign of pregnancy, but other causes of a missed period include diabetes, drug abuse, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and oral contraceptives.

Determining whether youโ€™re pregnant is crucial to the health of your unborn baby, as you need to take extra precautions to make sure you and your baby are safe. For example, spending time in environments where you inhale cigarette smoke or toxic fumes is harmful to your fetus, and medications such as opioids carry serious risks for mothers and their unborn children.

Common signs of pregnancy include tender, swollen breasts, nausea and vomiting, fatigue, headaches, increased urination, mood swings, food cravings, and light spotting. If you experience these symptoms regularly, you might be pregnant and can benefit from taking a pregnancy test.

Pregnancy Test FAQs

  • Can I get a free pregnancy test in Pottstown?

If you don't have health insurance or don't have access to a doctor, a community health clinic or a Planned Parenthood health center may be able to provide you with a free or low-cost pregnancy test. If you do have insurance, many commercial plans will fully cover the cost of a pregnancy test at an in-network provider including primary care doctors, medical laboratories, and both retail clinics and urgent care centers.

  • Where can I get a pregnancy test in Pottstown?

In general, pregnancy tests will be available at Pottstown-area urgent care centers, retail clinics, primary care doctor offices, and medical laboratories. While walk-in appointments are typically available, booking a visit online will reduce your wait time and ensure you determine whether or not you are pregnant as soon as possible.

  • How soon can I test for pregnancy?

For the best accurate result, wait until the week following your missed menstruation to take a pregnancy test. If you don't want to wait until your period has skipped, wait at least one to two weeks after you've had sex. If you are pregnant, your body needs time to develop detectable levels of HCG.

  • How much does a pregnancy test cost in Pottstown?

If you are uninsured, blood tests and urine tests in-clinic can cost anywhere from $50 to $200. This price doesnโ€™t include the doctorโ€™s consultation. Search for general practitioners and womenโ€™s health specialists to get a better idea of the cost in the Pottstown-area today.

  • Is a pregnancy test covered by my insurance?

Health insurance and medicare will typically cover the cost of pregnancy tests. You may be responsible for a copay for the consultation appointment.
