The When I called yesterday afternoon there was a 3/4 hour wait. The kind receptionist suggested I make a 9:30 am appointment this morning. I did and it worked out very nicely. A short wait and all went very smoothly!  Yes, I’d recommend this provider based on my experience today.

Showed up at the Ruston urgent care location for a walk in, learned about the crazy wait time but also the app, so I installed Solv and found that the Tacoma urgent care location has appointments available to schedule that day, where Ruston only had tomorrow. So I scheduled one just 30 minutes away, rushed to the office and the app knew I was there so I checked in, talked to the receptionist, she already had my insurance and stuff from the app scanning my card👍 so she photoed my ID and told me I'd have a 45 minute wait. I was excited for this. I left and used the wait list on the app to track my position in line, and showed up, was seen pretty much right away, dental assistant was kind, put in all the info, doctor came in right away, got the antibiotics I needed immediately. Pharmacy had my prescription ready soon as I got there, within 10 minutes probably. The whole experience was pretty amazing and even though it was sudden and I was in pain, had to learn about the app and whatnot, it was so easy. Very impressed.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

According to the CDC, anyone who has been exposed to the virus should get tested for hepatitis. This includes people who have had unprotected sex, shared needles, or have come into contact with blood or body fluids of an infected person. People who have traveled to countries with high rates of hepatitis, those born to a hepatitis-infected mother, and men who have sex with men are also at risk.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial as it can lead to serious health problems like liver disease and cancer if left untreated. Early detection allows for immediate treatment, reducing the risk of complications and preventing the spread of the virus to others.

Hepatitis testing options in Tacoma, WA:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics offer hepatitis testing services, often with same-day appointments. One such location is Tran Urgent Care & Wellness Centers, located at 710 S 38th St, Tacoma, WA 98418.

Primary care providers

Primary care providers are another option for hepatitis testing. They can provide comprehensive care, including testing and treatment for hepatitis and other STDs.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers in Tacoma offer free or low-cost hepatitis testing. These centers provide services regardless of your ability to pay, making them a good option for uninsured or underinsured individuals.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits for hepatitis are also available. These kits allow you to collect a sample at home and send it to a lab for testing, offering a convenient and private option.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Tacoma

According to the CDC, the prevalence of hepatitis in Tacoma is comparable to the national average. However, rates have been increasing in recent years, possibly due to increased testing and awareness. When compared to nearby counties like Lincoln County and Sherman County, Tacoma has a higher prevalence of hepatitis.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Tacoma

Risk factors for hepatitis in Tacoma include unprotected sex, sharing needles, and having a mother with hepatitis. The city's proximity to major transportation routes may also contribute to the spread of the virus.

Other STDs in Tacoma

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs like gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are also prevalent in Tacoma. The rates of these STDs are similar to the national average, but like hepatitis, have been increasing in recent years.

Remember, testing is available at numerous locations in Tacoma, including urgent care centers and medical laboratories. You can book same-day and next-day testing appointments through Solv’s website and mobile app.
