Had been experiencing jaw pain for a few days and I knew I wouldn’t be able to see my dentist until at least Monday. I was hesitant to go urgent care on a Saturday, I assumed I’d be waiting forever and for jaw pain, they wouldn’t be able to do much. But actually, I reserved a spot online and they took me right away. The medical assistant and doctor were so nice, helped me as best as they could, and sent me home with a prescription that eased the pain tremendously the next day. I’d never been to this location before but I’m glad I made the trip and the next time I need to go to urgent care, I’ll be going here. Thank you everyone at AFC Piscataway !

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Anyone who has been exposed to the hepatitis virus, or is at risk of exposure, should get tested. This includes those who have shared needles, had unprotected sex, traveled to countries with high rates of hepatitis, or have a family history of the disease. Also, healthcare workers and those who work with blood products are at a higher risk and should consider testing. According to the CDC, baby boomers (those born between 1945 and 1965) are also at a higher risk of hepatitis C and should be tested.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial as it can lead to serious health problems if left untreated, including liver damage, liver cancer, and even death. Early detection can help prevent these complications and ensure appropriate treatment. Moreover, those who are unaware they have hepatitis can unknowingly spread the virus to others.

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics provide convenient, same-day hepatitis testing. Carbon Health Urgent Care in Green Brook Township and NJ 365 Urgent Care in Kendall Park are two highly rated options in the area. You can book appointments at these clinics through Solv’s website and mobile app.

Primary care providers

However, the number of cases has been increasing over the years, similar to the trend seen in nearby counties such as Hampshire County and Worcester County. It's important to note that these numbers may be underreported as many people with hepatitis are unaware they have the disease.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Hackettstown

Risk factors for hepatitis in Hackettstown include unprotected sex, drug use, and close contact with someone who has the disease. The risk is also higher for those who have traveled to countries with high rates of hepatitis.

Other STDs in Hackettstown
