I wanted to stop in to get tested for GP, I was able to walk in and be seen. I didn't wait long which was a plus. The MA was a male, I dont see much male MA, I too am a MA. He seemed as if he was new to being an MA. So I asked he said he's been doing it for some years. He put the tourniquet on used a straight needle & couldn't draw the blood so he switched to a butterfly which I advised he use the first time. He dropped the closed needle on the ground picked it up because it was still cased & proceeded to use it. & left the tourniquet on my arm for more than a minute. I released it, he asked why did I do that, so I told him that its not supposed to be on my arm that long, it can mess up the results of the blood test causing hemoconcentration, give me nerve damage & brushing. He said he appreciates it he was taught a different way & I should allow him to do his job. I apologize if I made him feel uneasy but I wouldn't allow him to do it wrong with me.

I was able to choose a Labcorp location and schedule an appointment. Check in was easy, and I only needed to provide my name and DOB. They were able to locate my order in their system. And as soon as she finished Tim, the PA came in to us. He listened attentively, asked good questions , checked a couple of things and came up with a diagnosis. He gave us a lot of good information by way of explanation and didn’t rush us. He prescribed medication, gave us instructions as to what to do and not to do and offered for us to call him during the week if we had questions. It was a great experience by extremely capable staff. We were very impressed by the quality of care every step of the way.

Blood and urine were collected, test results came back quickly within 2 days because I did my test on a Friday. Quick, easy and cheap. Didn't have to wait for a visit to my PCP, and then get referral to lab.
