He seemed as if he was new to being an MA. So I asked he said he's been doing it for some years. He put the tourniquet on used a straight needle & couldn't draw the blood so he switched to a butterfly which I advised he use the first time. He dropped the closed needle on the ground picked it up because it was still cased & proceeded to use it. & left the tourniquet on my arm for more than a minute. I released it, he asked why did I do that, so I told him that its not supposed to be on my arm that long, it can mess up the results of the blood test causing hemoconcentration, give me nerve damage & brushing. He said he appreciates it he was taught a different way & I should allow him to do his job. I apologize if I made him feel uneasy but I wouldn't allow him to do it wrong with me.
